Ah Kong wanking?
So we were waiting for like some 3hrs for the pharmacist to drop by my ah kong's bed to pass him e medicine before he could go home yesterday after being discharged.
Ah kong was seated on his bed and since he had probs walking, they passed him this walking stick aid. We were all bored and so ahkong started twisting and turning the walking stick around.
I was tickled at how such an old man could find it amusing and so much fun to do that.
Unknowingly, i exclaimed, “Eh Mommy, see see, ah kong's playing wif his stick. So cute!”

I realised how wrong that sounds..
Complaint Letter to Changi General Hospital (CGH)
Dear CGH,
I am appalled at how incompetent some of your staff can be. Over the past 2 weeks that my grand dad was warded at your hospital, I was repeatedly offended and ashamed at your services.
I find it amazing how rude, unfriendly, unhelpful and insensitive your staff can be. Are these character traits required to work at CGH? Cuz that would explain how come the nicer nurses are at the other hospitals like SGH or TTSH instead since they dont have such negative qualities.
Looking for a nurse is so easy. Trying to get their attention is not. I have at so many times gone to the nurse station hoping to look for someone who could assist me. But each time I'm there, I face the following:
- No attention: Everyone seems to ignore me. There can be 5 staff AT the main table itself looking at us but nobody asks us what do we want. They just look at us and continue talking among themselves.
- Rude attitude: When I do FINALLY get a response after sarcastically commenting loudly that I must be invisible, your pregnant staff with short dyed hair rudely remarks to us “ya, what you want?”. Gee, I must say she's got wonderful service. Explains how come Singapore dropped in the recent customer service rankings. If you guys wanted your guests to leave with a memorable experience, u know what..u definitely scored high on the list..but for a NEGATIVE memorable experience.
- So fine, not all of them are rude: Then there are those who immediately shrug all their responsibilities off. I asked them for help and they tell me to look for some other nurse cuz they're busy doing their filing. OH WOW. So if e patient is choking or has shit in his pants, heck..who cares man..my filing is waaaay important! I don't care, go look for someone else who will help u cuz this is my duty now and some other nurse has that duty to finish, just not me. What happened to the selfless act of helping pple in need? Obviously some of these nurses in CGH didn't feel the need to have e compassion.
- Guests working at CGH: Hell no. I don't and never will work at CGH, especially with such terrible service. Having mentioned that, you, that male Chinese nurse who directed me to your colleague outside the nurse desk, I have no idea who you're mentioning. I dont work with you so don't expect me to know who u're referring to or what their name is. Whaddya expect me to do, look at every nurse's chest to find their name tag and read their name to verify if that's e nurse i shd be looking for simply cuz ure so unfriendly, unfriendly and rude? Some help like e nurse with e long hair wearing pink glasses would help more than a rude “u go look for e nurse outside” like duh there are so many nurses outside! and what makes u so special? cuz ure male or cuz ure hiding behind e desk?
- The insensitive doctor who does e rounds: Nothing and i mean NOTHING can be THIS insensitive. When your family member has been diagnosed with not 1 but TWO kinds of cancer, he struggles to do simple things like shit or pee..the last thing you want is for the doctor to go to the family and tell his whole diagnosis to everyone in the room the patient is in. I think it's just plain rude. Where's the privacy that we deserve? I had to request tt we talk in private. Yes, i know sometimes we have to request. But when you're telling family members that the patient is dying and doesnt have much time more to live, the least we expect is some privacy esp when we werent expecting sucha conversation to pop up. We were taken by shock and just imagine how we had to hold back our tears in front of other people who were just staring towards our area…
I'm not asking for much really. But sometimes i wonder and really feel like asking these nurses, just how wud u feel if my grand dad was your own immediate family? Do u just shrug off all your responsibilities cuz you're not related to the patient? If that's the case, then don't be a nurse. A nurse's job is not just medical related; is has to do with feelings. You need soft skills in every job, a nurse is no different.
I am just ashamed especially when the govt just announced last week that they intend to increase nurses' salaries. I'm cool with it if they really deserve the raise. But if that means more pay for such shitty service, then I hope the govt will relook at the finer details. Don't just look at the final report cards and the few “thank you” cards displayed at the wards. Do a proper check to see how unhappy people are with the service they get.
Think we're just slipping in customer service in e retail or F&B sector? Think again and open your eyes bigger.
Unhappily Not Yours,
elmoism
Ok sorry so i said i'll update soon but heh, one thing led to another and i ended home late last nite *winks*
Yesterday was sucha busy day i tell you. I woke up real early to visit my grand dad in e hospital. Before that, i went for brekkie and long john silver and had their yummy chicken egg sandwich toast thingy. Gawd their toasts are huge! Just check it out!!!

I just love how the cheese oozes out of the toast. It can get real tough biting into the toast cuz its so big! I don't quite like the hashbrown tho..still prefer Macdonald's.
But hey, this is one breakfast u must try!
I give it 4 out of 5. (Wanted to give 4.5 but e fact that LJS is so fuckin' slow and that it takes some 15mins for them to serve u..they shd really work on their concept of “fast food”
